Princes of Elemental Evil 5e
I will be using fatigue during the course of this campaign, with some changes to the rules.
The steps for fatigue and the appropriate penalties will be used as laid out in the Player’s Handbook.
One level of fatigue will be added to a character whenever a character is reduced to 0 hp. (If the character dies, this of course will not matter). This could happen several times in a single combat sequence if the character is reduced to 0 more than once.
One level of fatigue will be added to the character whenever the character critically fails a death saving throw (If the character dies, this of course will not matter).
One level of fatigue will be subtracted from the character whenever the character critically succeeds on a death saving throw, in addition to regaining 1 hp, and regaining consciousness.
One level of fatigue will be added to a character whenever the character fails a Constitution saving throw, regardless of the reason for the Constitution saving throw. Most times a Constitution saving throw is required reflect the character’s endurance and ability to resist physical hardships, and this will reflect that.
Regaining fatigue will be much easier than the standard rules.
A character may reduce the fatigue level by one (1) after taking a short rest. This may be done no more than twice in any 8 hour period.
A character may reduce the fatigue level by three (3) after taking a long rest. This may be done no more than once in any 24 hour period.
Use of a healer’s kit or herbalism kit during a short or long rest will increase the number of fatigue levels regained by one (1) . This does not require a roll, however, it does consume 1 use of the kit.
The character must have sufficient food and water to regain lost fatigue points. If for some reason the characters are on half-rations, the number of fatigue points regained will be reduced by one (1).
